Seville 4 days biking getaway through Itálica, Santiponce and via Verde de la Sierra Cádiz

Discover one of the most beautiful towns in Spain by bike! You will taste the  andalusian gastronomy, enjoy the culture, the history and nature during these four days cycling alongside us!


The offer includes tapas tours of Seville by bike, an excursion to the tunnels road and cycling in the via verde, as well as a cycling tour of Seville, Itálica and Santiponce.



 

The program for this offer will be the following:


FIRST DAY (THURSDAY): ARRIVAL IN SEVILLE, TAPAS ROUTE BY NIGHT BY BIKE


Arrival in Seville.


Check in at the hotel Nh Collection 4*. You can store your bikes in a safe garage 3 minutes away by foot from the hotel.


19:30 pm : We will go out for a tapas tour by bike, and discover the best bars in town where you will have the opportunity to taste the flavours of the rich Sevillian gastronomy.


The tapas are part of the culinary culture of Seville and consist of small individual dishes, usually accompanied with a drink. We will go by bike to taste tapas and drink in three different tapas bars in the city. Sevilla is gourmet heaven!


22:00pm : Return to the hotel.



SECOND DAY (FRIDAY): BICYCLE ROUTE IN SEVILLE CAMAS AND SANTIPONCE

08.00am : We will leave our hotel by bike to discover one of the best preserved Roman ruins in Spain: the ruins of Italica. This city that was founded in 206 BC and still has its  magnificent amphitheatre.


We will also ride to the Roman theater Santiponce and then we will go to the monastery of San Isidoro del Campo, founded in 1307 by Don Alfonso Perez de Guzman at the time of the kingdom of Ferdinand IV of Castile.


After that, we will head off to the Alamillo bridge, where it joins the park and then we will pedal along the river Guadalquivir to the center of Seville. Later, we will cross the La Barqueta bridge from where we will go to the Island of La Cartuja, to see the pavilions of the International Expo of 1992.

We will then visit the monastery of Santa Maria de las Cuevas, one of Andalusia’s four Carthusian monasteries.


Then we will head to Triana district where we will visit the Plaza del Altozano, the most emblematic area of the Triana district, which we access through the famous bridge of Triana. Once we arrive, we will have the opportunity to see the Capilla del Carmen, the work of Aníbal González, as well as the symbolic sculpture of the great bullfighter Juan Belmonte.


From this square start the main streets of the neighborhood. We ride along the Betis Street, which runs alongside the river and is ideal for cycling, as well as for contemplating the magnificent monuments of Seville. Following this, we will go back by Calle Pureza, located in the heart of the neighborhood and we will find the parish of Santa Ana Cistercian Gothic, the Chapel of the Mariners, and the seat of the brotherhood of Esperanza de Triana, one of the most beloved images of the city that appears in the madrugá.


We will stop for lunch in this popular neighborhood in Seville, and enjoy a food market where we will discover the local gastronomy with fresh quality products; this place is very much appreciated by the locals who come along for the delicious food!


After this break, we will board the Guadalquivir to ride the bikes to the Almohad city walls of the XII century, located next to the Basilica de la Macarena. Then, we will approach the Old Hospital of the Cinco Llagas - that now hosts the parliament of Andalusia- and cycle along the bike path next to the Almohad wall.  We then arrive at the Murillo gardens, and begin the bike tour of the historic town. We will have the opportunity to see the old tobacco factory that now houses the University of Seville, Maria Luisa park, which was a gift from the princess to celebrate the 1929 Exhibition, and we will also see the very famous Plaza de España and  Plaza de America. We will go through the history of the Moorish building - which houses the Museum of Arts and Popular Customs. We will continue our trip to the Jewish quarter, also called the neighborhood of Santa Cruz, where today stands the Royal Palace of the Alcazar of Seville, the Cathedral and the Giralda. Afterwards, we will cycle to the city hall (ayuntamiento), the Plaza Nueva, the Plaza de San Francisco and the Plaza del Salvador, from where we will we will reach  "Las Setas", also known as Plaza Mayor of Seville.


After cycling through Seville you will become familiar with its history and legends and we will have enjoyed the sights from Seville’s rich historical past.


In total today we will cover 40 kilometers by bike!



THIRD DAY (SATURDAY): EXCURSION BY BICYCLE TO THE GREENWAY OF THE SIERRA DE CADIZ (The bike road of the tunnels)

08:00am: We leave by private vehicle for Puerto Serrano, which is less than an hour’s drive from Seville, where we enjoy the greenery along the Sierra de Cádiz . We willl cover 36 kilometers cycling through the mountains, enjoying the tunnels, bridges and a natural and unique view of the white villages of the province of Cadiz.


Our bike ride begins at the old Puerto Serrano Station.


After passing through the landscapes of the Llanos de la Reyerta, we will come across a track to the Junta de los Ríos, at Kilometer 9 where the Guadalete River merges with the Guadalporcún. Around kilometer 15 and after several tunnels and bends to overcome challenging terrain, we get to the train station of Coripe, restored as a hotel-restaurant and an excellent place to regain strengths.


The Interpretation Center of the Sierra Greenway is located at kilometer 20 and serves as a top spot to see the landscape star of this cycle route: the Rock of Zaframagón. We recommend you stop there and see the vultures.


The last section of this road, which crosses the Colada de Moron at kilometer 32, leads to the town of Olvera, monumental white villages with a hotel and restaurant.


17:00 pm:  Return to Seville from Olvera


18:00 pm:. Arrival in Seville.

FOURTH DAY (SUNDAY): DEPARTURE


Healthy buffet breakfast at the hotel.


12:00pm: Check out.
